Jaiku Moblet in 24hrs

Overview

"Jaiku Moblet in 24hrs" is an project we started as a way of testing how effective developing a mobile application could be using mojax.

What you see currently is the result of about 15hrs of work.

As you can see, the application does a fair job of translating the user experience of the Jaiku Web Site to the form factor of a mobile device.

Resources

This Moblet uses many of the APIs provided by Jaiku. Use of these APIs requires a developer key which your must download for your self if you plan to run this code for your own purposes.

Do to popular demand, the Jaiku Moblet is being moved out of the set of sample moblets and being promoted to its own open source project on SourceForge . As soon as the project has been configured we will post updated download instructions here.

Outstanding Features

No auto-updates yet ... all stream updates are triggered manually via the menu.
Need better progress indicator during longer updates

Known Issues

We've tested this moblet very briefly on a Blackberry Pearl as well as a Samsung Blade. Theses are the issues I've found thus far.

Blackberry Pearl

There are no softkeys on a Blackberry, so I still need to deal with BB specific menu commands

Blackberry Pearl & Samsung Blade

Progress indicator is not working correctly.
There is an odd delay everytime I move from Contact to Explore.
